Pastor’s Corner

As we enter the month of February, we are thankful it is the shortest month since it is in the middle of winter! But already we can tell our days are getting a little longer and brighter, and we really haven’t had any winter weather-yet. After living in Beckley WV for 7 years, I could go the rest of my life without seeing any of that bad 4 letter word that starts with “s”.
But a few good things about February. It’s the month my son and my granddaughters were born in. For those who like football, the Super Bowl happens soon. It’s the birthdays of 2 of our most famous Presidents-Washington and Lincoln. And it’s also the month we remember those we love on Valentine’s Day.

Much like Thanksgiving, shouldn’t we remember to be thankful-and tell those we love that we love them-every day, not just once a year?
One writer said this: “Our love for each other should be as unconditional as God’s love is for us. He knows all about us and loves us just the same. He loves us although we have offensive characteristics and experience many failures. Thus we should love one another, regardless of color, race, denomination, and disposition. What a revival our churches would experience if even the majority of believers would learn to love others like God loves us-unconditionally-an agape kind of love.

Love others-as Christ loves us. May His Name be ever praised!

Pastor’s Corner – July 2024

Pastor’s Corner - July 2024 As we once again get ready to celebrate our country’s birthday, we are reminded fresh and anew that freedom is not free. We are free, and we take that for granted every day. We assume everyone in the world has such freedom, but it isn’t...

Pastor’s Corner - June 2024 As we enter June, we have just celebrated Memorial Day; we have Flag Day in June; and the 4 th of July soon after that. To we who have a few years behind us, we remember how it used to be. Every school day started with the pledge of...
