Pastor’s Corner – September 2022

Bill & Beth Horton

As we go into another Fall season, our thoughts turn to the opening of school; another football season; and for many, their favorite season of all. There is nothing as beautiful as seeing God’s paintbrush at work as the trees change color and valleys seem to be covered with blankets of color everywhere. This is just another reminder that God is our Creator, as He touches creation and blesses us with vibrant hues all around us.

Labor Day weekend, Beth and her 4 sisters and their spouses (me too) will be renting a house together for the first time in Maggie Valley. I haven’t been there in many, many years, and I look forward to going. When I taught school, two different times we made the trip to Biltmore House, and I have been over to Cherokee once and Tweetsie a few times, but I look forward to visiting Asheville and the surrounding area.

At church, we are branching out on a new website that will allow folks to watch the Sunday service from home, and also stay up to date with what is happening at church. We hope everyone will enjoy it, and again we thank Mike for all he has done in getting it up and running. We are collecting items and donations for the Fair workers once again, which is a ministry in itself. We have passed out doughnuts to area businesses and have invited folks to church.

I hope you will enjoy Fall-and I hope you will continue to pray for Forsyth Park, and look for ways to serve His Kingdom through her.

May the Lord truly bless you and yours.-Pastor Bill

Pastor’s Corner – January 2023
