Pastor’s Corner – February 2026
We all want to be loved. We are loved by our parents and grandparents. And even though there may be some doubt at times, by our siblings. We are glad they care about us and want to do all they can to help us. In return, we love them as well, and want only the best for them.
John called himself in the Gospel of John “the apostle Jesus loved”. As we see in the Chosen, Jesus loved them all, but John just liked to say it the most! We see John refer to love not only throughout his gospel, but also in his epistles of 1,2 and 3rd John.
In February, because of Valentine’s Day, our thoughts turn to love and the words of John. In John 13:34, Jesus says “A new commandment I give to you ,that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” And in John 15:9-13, we find “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay don one’s life for his friends.”
May we reflect the love of God to a lost and dying world, and share them the joy; the compassion; and the peace of a God who truly loves us all.
