Faith

We struggle to keep up the pace, sometimes we wonder why.
Fear says we’ll never win the race, but faith tells us to try.
There’s no one there to comfort us, we’re lost and all alone,
Fear drives us far away from God, but faith brings us back home.
We need to place our trust in Him, although we cannot see.
Our fears can bind us evermore, but faith will set us free.
To walk in faith or run in fear…It’s up to us to choose
To walk in faith will win the race, to run in fear will lose. –Karen Taylor

I prayed

I prayed-and loads were lifted; I prayed-and storms were stilled.
I prayed-and hands were strengthened; feet were guided; needs were filled.
I prayed-and doors were opened; I prayed-and work was done.
I prayed-and hearts were melted; lives were changed; and souls were won.
I prayed-and God responded, His miracles everywhere.
The world was blessed; the kingdom hastened-what power lies in prayer!

Grandma’s Glasses

A little boy said to a playmate: “When I get older I want to wear glasses just like Grandma wears. She must have a special pair because she can see much more than most people.
She can see when folks are hungry or tired or sorry, and she can even see what’ll make them feel better. She can see how to fix lots of things to have fun with, and she can see what a feller meant to do, even if he didn’t do it right. She can see when a feller is ‘bout to cry and she can see how to make them feel better. I asked her one day how she could see so good, and she said it was the way she learned to look at things as she got older. So when I get older, I want a pair of glasses just like Grandma’s so I can see good too!

Bad habits are like a comfortable bed; easy to get into, but hard to get out of.

God is talking to one of His angels and says “Do you know what I have just done? I have just created a 24 hour period of alternating light and darkness on Earth. Isn’t that good?”
The angel says “Yes, but what will you do now?”
God replied “I think I’ll call it a day.”

A little boy in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed around the offering plates. When they came near his pew, the boy said loudly “Don’t pay for me, daddy. I’m under 5.”
“Now children” said the teacher, I want you to write an essay-just put down what is in you.” Ten minutes later Jimmy handed in the following-“In me there is a heart, a lung, and an appendix. And there is a stomach with two pieces of bread and butter; an apple; and five caramels!”

A new Sunday School teacher had to do some work with the children’s rendition of the Lord’s Prayer. One said “Howard be thy name.” Another “Lead us not into Penn Station.” And a third “Our Father, who art in Heaven, how’d you know my name?”
